1. Independent fan site — no affiliation

FlameWire is an independent, unofficial fan project operated for community interest only. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, authorized by, or associated with the National Hockey League (“NHL”), NHL Enterprises, the Calgary Flames Hockey Club, any NHL member club, the NHL Players’ Association, any player, any arena or broadcast partner, or any parent, subsidiary, or affiliate of the foregoing. Names, marks, and team references appear only for identification, commentary, and fan discussion.

2. What the Site offers (scope of these terms)

These disclaimers apply to the entire Site and all of its features as they exist now or may be added later, including without limitation:

• Wire / media desk — home feed, analysis & opinion, articles, YouTube & video listings, podcasts, story pages, and source-by-source listings.
• Web Wire Hits — discovery headlines and links gathered from public web/news search and similar third-party indexes.
• The Flames desk — schedules, standings (including historical seasons and alternate views such as division, conference, and wild card), club and player-oriented stats, and related record banners.
• Instagram directory — fan-oriented listings of public Instagram accounts (players, alumni, organization, media, and similar categories) and any linked profile or headshot imagery.
• Arcade — entertainment games such as Trail of Teams, Flames Minesweeper, Flame Chase, and any related hub pages or game APIs.
• Sources & submissions — the sources directory, credits, and public forms to suggest new sources.
• Site chrome & utilities — navigation, theme preferences, UI variants, legal pages, and any administrative tools used solely to operate the Site.

3. Trademarks, logos, uniforms, and brand assets

All team logos, wordmarks, crests, uniform designs, arena names, league logos, broadcast marks, and other brand assets displayed on the Site (including historical franchise marks) are the property of their respective owners—including, without limitation, the NHL, member clubs, and other rights holders.

FlameWire claims no ownership, license grant, or exclusive rights in any such marks or assets. Display of a logo or name does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership. Rights holders who want material removed or re-attributed may contact us; we will review good-faith requests.

4. Third-party content (news, analysis, podcasts, video, Web Wire, social)

Headlines, articles, analysis, podcasts, videos, Web Wire Hits, social posts, thumbnails, and similar materials featured, summarized, or linked on the Site are created and published by independent third-party content producers, outlets, platforms, search indexes, and creators. FlameWire aggregates, organizes, indexes, may generate short briefings for, and/or links to that material for fan convenience.

• We do not own the underlying reporting, audio, video, images, or social content produced by those third parties.
• We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality, opinions, claims, titles, descriptions, or any other aspect of content published by individual producers, outlets, platforms, or indexes.
• All views expressed in third-party content are solely those of the original authors and publishers—not FlameWire.
• Where practical, we credit and link to the original source. You should consume full content on the original publisher’s site or app and follow their terms of use, copyright notices, and privacy policies.
• Inclusion of a source in our directory or feed does not mean we verify, endorse, or permanently host that source.

FlameWire does not control third-party websites, RSS/Atom feeds, embeds, CDNs, or platforms (including YouTube, podcast hosts, Instagram, Google News or similar search products, news sites, and related services). Your use of those services is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

5. Summaries, briefings, and automated or assisted text

Some pages may include titles, short summaries, briefings, or other text that is written, edited, or generated for the Site (including with automated or AI-assisted tools). That material is provided for convenience only and is not a substitute for the original source. It may omit context, misstate facts, contain errors, or become outdated. Always verify important information with the original publisher or official sources. FlameWire does not guarantee the accuracy of any summary or briefing.

6. Schedules, standings, stats, and hockey data

Game schedules, start times, scores, standings (current and historical), division/conference/wild-card views, statistics, streaks, rankings, and related hockey data are compiled from publicly available sources (including public NHL web APIs and similar feeds) and from stored snapshots for prior seasons. Times may be shown in Calgary Mountain Time for fan convenience.

That data may be delayed, incomplete, mislabeled, or incorrect. FlameWire does not warrant that any schedule, score, ranking, or statistic is accurate or fit for any particular purpose—including betting, fantasy sports, scouting, commercial use, or official record-keeping. Official results and records are those published by the NHL and its clubs.

7. Player information, headshots, and career data

Player names, positions, numbers, career path data used in games (such as Trail of Teams), headshots, mugshots, and similar materials may be drawn from public sources for display. FlameWire does not claim ownership of player likenesses or official headshot libraries. Such materials remain the property of their respective rights holders. Listings are informational and may be incomplete or outdated.

8. Instagram directory

Instagram handles, categories, and profile links on the Site are provided for informational and fan-directory purposes only. They are not an official club, league, or team directory. Accuracy is not guaranteed. Accounts may be unofficial, inactive, or incorrectly categorized. Do not misuse any profile information. Your use of Instagram is governed by Meta/Instagram’s terms—not ours.

9. Arcade games and entertainment features

Arcade features—including Trail of Teams, Flames Minesweeper, Flame Chase, and any related scores, hints, or progress stored in your browser—are for entertainment only. They are not official NHL or Calgary Flames promotions, contests, or gambling products. No real-world prizes are offered unless we expressly say so in writing on the Site. Game data (including player career paths) may contain errors.

10. User submissions (suggest a source and similar forms)

If you submit a source suggestion or other information through the Site, you represent that you have the right to send it, that it is not unlawful or infringing, and that we may review, store, approve, reject, or ignore it at our sole discretion. Submissions do not create any obligation to publish, compensate, or respond. Do not submit confidential information, malware, spam, or content you do not have rights to share.

You grant FlameWire a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use submitted source names, URLs, and related notes as needed to evaluate and, if approved, incorporate them into the Site’s directories and feeds.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Site, including by attempting to disrupt service, overload servers, probe or breach security, harvest data at scale for commercial resale, scrape in a way that harms the Site or its sources, impersonate FlameWire or the NHL/Flames, or use the Site for unlawful purposes. We may suspend access or remove materials as we reasonably deem necessary to protect the Site, users, or third parties.

12. Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies

The Site may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for basic operation and preferences—for example theme (light/dark), UI version selection, session login for site administration, and optional game progress. These are used to run and improve the fan experience, not to sell your personal information. Third-party sites you open from our links may set their own cookies under their policies.

13. No professional, betting, or investment advice

Nothing on the Site constitutes legal, financial, medical, investment, gambling, or other professional advice. Content is for general fan interest only. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on information found here or on linked third-party sites.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, DATA, LINKS, SUMMARIES, GAMES, DIRECTORIES, AND FEATURES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TITLE, ACCURACY, OR AVAILABILITY. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, timely, or free of errors, viruses, or other harmful components.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FLAMEWIRE AND ITS OPERATORS, CONTRIBUTORS, HOSTS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SITE OR ANY THIRD-PARTY CONTENT OR SERVICES LINKED FROM THE SITE—EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Without limiting the foregoing, FlameWire is not liable for: decisions you make based on Site information; errors in schedules, stats, standings, or game data; third-party content, feeds, or search results; disputes with content producers, platforms, or rights holders; user submissions; or loss of browser-stored preferences or game progress.

16. Intellectual property of the Site itself

Subject to the third-party rights described above, the Site’s own layout, original FlameWire branding created for this project, and original text that is not third-party content or automated restatement of third-party works are protected to the extent applicable by law. You may not commercially resell a wholesale copy of the Site, mirror it in a way that implies official NHL or Flames status, or remove legal notices that appear on the Site.

17. Changes to the Site and these terms

We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, including feeds, games, data views, and directories. We may also revise this Legal page. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the revised terms.
